Dynamic Web Pages Question

How long should it take to generate a dynamic web page?

I mean, I know that it all depends on what kinda page you're generating and for who and bla bla bla etc...

But obviously it shouldn't take like 20 seconds to generate a page, whats a good goal to shoot for? 0.2 seconds? 0.5 seconds? Anyone?

As you said before, it depends...

Do the users mind waiting 10-20 seconds for the page to load? Look at these forums when you're not a subscriber... quite slow. That's not based on the design, but on bandwidth, but provides about the same results.

In order to have your web pages displayed in a reasonable amount of time, I would aim for 1 or 2 seconds. If the user will be moving around the website alot, loading new pages every few seconds, then this might be too slow.

I'm not really sure what to tell you, I just thought I'd throw in some comments since you bumped your own post. 🙂
