Does anyone know of any good ones? This is what I did.

Created i think an volume set from a totally blank disk under win2k disk management. Told it to be FAT32 and called it H:\. Copied all of my important files to the volume.
Booted to a floppy, fdisk my other drive, format, install win98. Guess what, no H:. I'm an idiot. It actually occured to me as i fdisked, that this might not work. Any hope. I have about 5 gigs of data to recover.

-break.

edit:: OK this is what i REALLY did. Created a dynamic disk in win2k and made it a simple volume.

Well if it's a dynamic disk then you need win2k to access it....
Either install win2k (if possible) or put the drive in another win2k system.

I'm not sure about dynamic disk, but people have reported good results from Lost and Found at www.powerquest.com. I believe you can download the trial, and it will tell you what you can recover.
