Dynamat on my case?

I put Dynamat on my case door(the whole side panel comes off) to reduce vibration and some noise. I hear that people do it. Was it a bad idea? Will it pretty much make an insulator for it and get hotter? i didn't cover the vents, so that's good, but is it bad to have it covered in Dynamat?

NO! Actually it's good for sound proofing but then not everybody can afford it. As long as you don't block the vent holes and have enough case fans to ensure proper ventilation you should be OK. Now for the final question, did it reduced the noise level? If it did not then maybe reducing the fans voltages will do the trick without sacrificing ventilation.😎

The quick and dirty fix for vibrating panels on a cheesy sheet metal case might be automobile undercoat in a spray can sprayed on the inside with a little masking around critical surfaces. A very similar but neater product is rocker shutz(shoots). A rubber base protective coating for auto rocker panels. This sure works good for heating and ventilating ductwork.
