Just further evidence the world does in fact revolve around you?!? ;)

(bad news.... it REALLY revolves around ME!)
It has nothing to do with you Goonies. And I quote -

British philosopher Bertrand Russell. After giving a lecture on astronomy, Russell was refuted by a woman in the audience, who claimed that the earth was situated not in space, but on the back of a large turtle. When Russell asked what the turtle was standing on, the woman replied that it was “turtles all the way down.”

All the way down boys.

Have you ever seen a turtle standing on the back of another turtle? I rest my case.

Edit: Besides, the back of a turtle is convex. Have you ever seen a sphere sitting still on the top of a convex surface? Give that woman the raspberry.

Closest I could find in a 2-minute Google! ;)

(yes I'm aware golf balls have dimples so technically this is cheating!)

I sense a vertical rod holding them in place.

Again.... golf balls have dimples. (these are small "cupped" areas which DO allow one golf-ball to be carefully balanced on top of another)

HOWEVER these "dimples" mean that a golf-ball isn't actually a perfect sphere hence the "cheating" comment.

I guess that is why my compur is from 2014,although both videocard and monitor has been upgraded.
mine is from 2011.
same about video card and monitor.

this is what happens when you stop gaming.
i upgraded video card only because i multi-monitor.

and the 'forum is dying' feeling has been around since pre-coid.
back then i was thinking this forum would close b4 i hit 25k posts

I'm fine leaving everyone in suspense forever! ;)

(far more likely nobody even notices though)

Uh, yes, closer inspection reveals that those ARE golf balls. However, as a golfer, and having majored in physics and not having my head up my ass I have to say, there's no way in the world you can stand 3 golf balls like that. Simple air currents and Brownian motion would make it impossible. That's done with a rod or glue.

It took me like 3 seconds to find this lol.... next time I suggest a quick Google on your own PRIOR to posting! (just sayin)

And the news only gets worse.... ;)

Largest stack of golf balls (Guiness Book of World-Records)

TL: DR: The world record for stacking golf balls is 9. (nine)

(I wonder if it's too late to ask for a refund on that "physics" degree?)

But are they spheres? No. Anyway, you can't prove that wasn't faked. :colbert:

I've found it's best to admit it when one makes a rash statement and is subsequently shown to be mistaken (with almost zero effort I might add) rather than acting like you were right anyway but hey you do you!

Why? To find out if the impossible is actually possible? I trust my mind and imagination more than Google.

Not what I'd call a rash statement. Maybe I was wrong. Big deal. I've been wrong lots of times.

Including THIS time! ;)

And the only reason this became any kind of "deal" was you getting defensive!
