I have 3 computers at my house.2 contain AMD cpu's,,Duron 700 and a T-bird 900.My dilemma is the 900 died on me the other night.I ordered a new XP 1600 to replace it.I borrowed the duron from the other cpu to put in mine but that one would not work either in my board(ECS K7S5A).I began to think maybe the board was dead and not the cpu.I decided to try the 900 back on my other cpu to see if it did work.No such luck.I also tried the XP on the other cpu.I then put the 700 back in the original board(MSI6330)and that no longer works.they both turn on and spin the fans and hard drive. No beeps and it will not post.I took all of my cpu's to a friends house and tested them there. The 900 was dead but the 700 and XP are still working, but they wont work at my house.I unplugged the towers and reset the bios.I tried to remove all none essential components to see if that worked but nothing. Why are my boards not working after they have had the dead 900 in them.

reset the bios
Do you mean you cleared the cmos?

would not work either in my board(ECS K7S5A).
What is the configuration that you are using?

Unplug everything
but
1 stick of ram, videocard and ps.

Make sure you did actually clear the cmos.

pulled out everything from the case and used one stick RAM video card and P.S. and even unplugged and cleared everyting before starting to test everything.I have used good functioning, tested components.
I still have nothing and now I cant even get a hard drive to spin up.No beeps or anything.I know the cpu is good cause I tested it before I put it in and after i took it out after playin around.I am starting to pull my hair out with this one.

then put the 700 back in the original board(MSI6330)and that no longer works.they both turn on and spin the fans and hard drive

So the system powers and all fans including HSF are on but no video and no post?
What happens if you put no ram in the system does it beep then?
Are you positive the agp card is all the way in?(assuming you have an agp card as I don't see it mentioned.)

if both the duron 700 and your AXP 1600 are definatly working, it either means your boards are dead. I seriously doubt both are, its probably just you haven't got your Video Card seated properly in the board. Try fiddling around with the VC, and try to get it to post with just ram and PS in as oakenfold suggested. If that doesn't work, try removing your mobo and getting it to post out of the case, on a static mat or something, that worked for me when i thought my mobo was dead, just it needed reseating in the case.

I tried the removing the mobo from the case on both towers.3 different video cards,(2 AGP and 1 PCI).All working of course except on the 2 I needed them to work on.I pulled the RAM out and still no beeps.I have tried 2 different P.S. and that was no help.Every component I have hooked up to the board has worked on everything else.I have tested the RAM and the chips again and they are all in good working order.I took both of the boards to a local computer shop and they did everything I did and they got the same results I did. Both boards are DEAD as far as they were concerned. So if anyone has any last ditch crazy ideas to get these workin I am all ears.If not I have some fancy big paperweights here I would consider getting rid of.
