DXR3 And Win2k

I just installed a Creative Labs DXR3 Decoder card in anticipation of my new drive arriving. However now when I try to play an MPEG file it either plays VERY jerky or not at all leaving me with only a black screen. Any ideas? My Real Clips play just fine. And it is not all of my MPEG's just some. It also increases the size of the player when they wont work
I am running win2k with the following setup:

P3 667@750
128MB PC-100
Abit VT6X4 mobo
IBM 75GXP HDD
Xitel Storm PLatinum Sound
CL PCI 16MB TNT
3COM 3C905C-TX NIC

Any ideas?

Check to see if DMA is enabled on the drive. Most people have noticed that win2k sets their cd-rom to PIO instead by default.
