I' ve been away for a few weeks, so i apologize if this has been posted a 101 times already, but I read this desc. of DX8a on tweak3D:

"DirectX 8.0a contains updates for issues with international installs on Windows 2000 and issues where input devices could have buttons disabled that were enabled with previous DirectX releases. There are no other changes.

I then exported my DX8 info which I installed about a month ago and saw this:

------------
DxDiag Notes
------------
DirectX Files Tab: No problems found.
Display Tab 1: The file nvdisp.drv is uncertified, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs. You may be able to get a certified driver from the manufacturer of the hardware device.
Sound Tab 1: The file EMU10K1.VXD is uncertified, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs. You may be able to get a certified driver from the manufacturer of the hardware device.
Music Tab: No problems found.
Input Tab: Problems were found in the system registry. Details are available in the saved text file. You should reinstall DirectX.
Network Tab: No problems found.

i 've been using DX8 for over a month now without any noticeable problems, but taking into account what I have highlighted bold, are these input references at all related? meaning I need install DX8a? or should I just reinstall DX8

thanks

btw, Specs are:
Win98SE
PIII500
Geforce 2 GTS
128 RAM
40GB WD
SBLIVE! value

It certainly won't hurt to go to 8A, it seems like it had a few bug fixes and hasn't had any real trouble reports....yet!
