Just curious if anyone has some estimations as to when they will be coming out, obviously DX10 would have to be out which would imply Vista as well, so what is that..... 2007?

I really don't wanna drop the money into a new comp until thats all out, Conroe and AMDs equiv as well.

my magic 8 ball says... 2007.. sometime between january and march... with the possibility of a 9 month extention

G80 and R600 will be capable of displaying DX10 effects this year.

But DX10 itself won't be around until Vista is released, and that means early 2007 (or later of course as it can always get delayed).

I think you guys are going to be surprised at how quickly DX10 will be picked up in games. I know Vanguard will be DX10, so will Halo, Crysis... those are the only ones i'm following, but i'm sure there are more. It's backwards compatible with DX9, and offers quite a significant increase in performance (although i doubt it's the 6-8x that's been claimed). And Microsoft is actively working with many companies for DX10 launch titles.

hmm....

see i wouldnt want to make a decision on any card being good/better/best until there are some decent games to benchmark it with on the operating system i plan to use it with you know.....

i dunno if im gonna be able to hold out for another year.... ahhhh oh well...

my 6800ultra is doing me okay for 1280x1024, i really am in need of dualcore though.... decisions decisions

Does anyone actually know of any games that are under development that are going to use DX10...? Isn't Crysis still DX9?

Crysis is mostly a DX10 game. But until Windows Vista is released it will use a DX9 renderer so it can be played this year by everyone owning a GPU capable of DX9 effects. It's the same story for any games released this year that are "DX10". They will use DX9 until Vista is released.

I doubt Crysis will ship with DX10 features out-of-the-box. Remember the 1.3 patch that added SM 3.0 to Far Cry? I have a feeling something like that will happen here.

I do know the Crysis videos at E3 were all DX9.

Elveon is I think. Also, I'm pretty sure Project Offset will be DX10 as well.
