I did some surfing about this topic and found out that there have been some ways to go about this. Most references however are a few years old.

Is this still possible and can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks

so what about the information that's out there?

Very poor attemps at half hearted hacks which is not the real thing, you are better off buying Win7 for the obvious benefits of DX10/DX11 and better security etc....no real reason to stay with XP nowadays even for gaming.

You have to remember both Vista and Win7 are a major OS redesign from XP.

The project died because it couldn't be done remotely as easily as some said it could be. What they ended-up with was DX9.0 + SM4.0-ish effects, not DX10, and only in a select handful of tested games (which lots of people couldn't get to work right, even after following all the tips).

MS can't kill XP fast enough. I'll use both XP and either Win7 or Win8 (when it comes out). Gonna see how long XP will last... lol.
