"Man, listen, you know my heart, my soul and everything I have is in Orlando," Howard told RealGM. "I just can't leave it behind."
"I have gotten some bad advice," Howard said. "I apologize for this circus I have caused to the fans of our city. They didn't deserve none of this. I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart. I will do whatever I can to make this right and do what I was put in Orlando to do."

Yes, exactly like Lebron

he's practically the opposite of Lebron. I think he's making a mistake but he's putting the team and city ahead of his best interests and what seemed to be his own desires

Dwight Howard has informed the Magic that he is prepared to sign away the early termination option on his contract to remain with the club through the 12-13 season.
Orlando officials told Howard to go home and sleep on his decision before making anything final, according to sources.

Indecision 2012.

If I'm the Lakers the only way I get Howard is a straight up swap for Bynum (with a guaranteed commitment to signing an extension of course). Howard's trade value has taken a major hit these past few days.

I disagree strongly that his value has taken a hit. Why?

The only reason would have been if Dwight didn't commit to an extension. I don't think the "circus" and confusion changes his value at all. Not sure why it would matter to the Lakers or Nets or whoever.

Howard's trade value is equivalent to whether he puts his pen where his mouth is. If he signs away his opt-out clause, he's a keeper, otherwise he should be shipped. On the other side of the coin, only if he's willing to sign an extension should a team take him on, unless they are trying to unload cap space for next year.

It's a fiasco, but it's all up to Howard at this point. If he signs away his opt-out clause, I give him props for atleast owning up and backing it up.

So if D12 signs the opt-in extension, there is absolutely no chance that he will be traded to Dallas for '12-'13 season right?

No chance at all D12 is in a Mavs uniform ever. We will use up our available cap space this off season on DWill and other pieces to fill out the roster. So even if D12 is available in '14 we'll be out of the game.
Putting DWill with Dirk is not too shabby. A very successful haul IMO.

put a tent over this circus!

I think Howard is mentally a child - he still bitches about every foul called on him, and bitches that he was fouled on every shot attempt. This mess just adds to it.

That said, the Magic are almost powerless to really add anything to help their team at this point - Anderson is the only valuable trade chip left - and they would be foolish to move him.

I expect Howard to play lights out for the next couple of weeks - come playoff time though, the formula is going to be the same, and his free throw shooting, along with Nelson's defensive 'short'-comings, are going to be a major problem.

His rep has taken a bit of a hit and that's understandable but personally I don't think much less of him. He's still a 'kid' and indecision and some whining aren't the worst qualities in the world. Nothing in the realm of other head cases in the league that get kicked around the league because they are very talented yet are generally cancers to team chemistry. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for him to grow up and realize how his immaturity has broad ramifications on others.

holy cr@p...wiz traded javale mgretard to denver for nene, and sent nick young to the clips...didn't see that one coming. No doubt the wiz were sick of these immature players, but surprised they got nene in return.

Lakers traded Fisher..

This isn't going to hurt them on the court much but will definitely rock the locker room. He was their leader, probably moreso than kobe. His occassional but critical clutch shooting will be missed at certain moments in the playoffs too. I like Ramon Sessions tho, he's a solid player imo.

And Walton. Fuckin Rockets giving the Lakers a good bigman in Hill, and now they have Sessions. Jees.

On the bright side, Spurs got SJax back!

Why did they get SJax? Seems like they have plenty of shooters. What did they give up?
