I am building a DVR server running on windows XP pro 32 bit. The software does not support 64 bit.
I was planning a small Raid1 for the boot, and starting off with a 1TB disk for image storage, with the possibility of growing it into a Raid5 if needed.
I think the ICH8R supports that configuration.
I used this board on the last linux server build.

So far, it has worked OK. The northbridge does run hot, up in the 70's every time I checked it.
Does anyone have a better suggestion, considering the needs? No overclocking necessary, and the onboard video is plenty. Stable and good performance is the key.
