We have a DVR from our local cable company. Other than the small disk ? it works great. We would like to record shows from our DVR to DVDs for watching in other rooms, and freeing up disk space.

I did a Google on DVR / DVD RECORDERS and found reviews ? all of which were at least 2 years old. This leads me to believe I?m behind the times. What are folks doing these days???

Looking forward to your responses! :)

If you want a DVR/DVD recorder combo I highly suggest the Pioneer. Yes it is expensive,($349 for Pioneer DVR-640H-S) but they make some of the finest machines available.

I have a Pionner 220s, about 2 years old and the recording quality on it is fantastic even at 3 hours, it is only a dvd recorder, no hard drive but when I get another it will be a Pioneer w/ a hard drive.

If you want just a seperate unit just to record to DVD from you DVR or direct from cable, JVC, Toshiba or Liteon would be models to look at.
