DVR(digital video recorder) cards, need help!

I am looking to set up a security cam as I have been having problems in my neighborhood. I want to use a DVR PCI card and a small camera.
Does antone have any tips? All that I can find on the net is stuff that costs anywhere from $800 to $5000! All I want is to find a card with software for under $200. Please advise if you know anything about this. Thanks🙂

As I understand it, DVR cards convert analog camera signals to digital. Is that correct?

Check out the I/O Magic PVR for $39 at Compusa. Here's a Link.. Only catch is that the version of PowerVCR is a "light" edition and won't support any of the card's inputs besides the coax cable. You can buy a full edition of PowerVCR and it will support the SVideo and composite inputs without a problem.
