DVI vs VGA pt 2

All i can say is wow

im running 2 monitors side by side
ones a 19" westinghouse running thru DVI
the other is a 15 Dell running through VGA

i asked in this Thread If there was a difference and to everyone who told me there was you were right

true that but my dell doesnt support DVI

although i could use an adaptor and a VGA cable and make it vair VGA vs VGA to see if thats making the difference or maybe its just caused by the backlight since the DVI supporting monitor seems a lot brighter

Yea that's only fair.

I have found VGA to be adequate for most things in the past, although I do use DVI these days.

hmmm just based on web pages
i'd say that the westinghouse still looks nicer but not quite as nice and for some reason it is a lil off center but thats probly due to a setting vs the cable

what i need is to hook up 2 of same monitor appears i was giving the dell monitor too much credit 🙁

That's all there is to it. Obviously DVI is going to be better. It isn't possibe for it to be worse.

Yeah, but you can get 1:1 with VGA too and when you do it looks fine.

but VGA is also does a double conversion on the video signal and losses a bunch of quality through that

It most certainly is. There are LCDs out there with terrible gray dithering over DVI.

BTW any1 know of a way to get the games to run on one and everything else to run on the other?

You can use ultramon to stretch your desktop to the second one and you can run different programs on each screen. only thing tho is that if you are running a game on one and switch over to the second, the game minimizes. You can fix this by runing the game in a window, but then if you move the mouse too far if will go over to the second monitor and you will lose control in the game.
