DVI vs. HD15 on CRT monitors?

Is there any benefit to using DVI on a CRT monitor?

I bought an HP P1110 21" FD Trinitron monitor. It only has an HD15 interface.

I could probably sell it and buy an IBM P260 without losing much, if any money. The IBM P260 is also a 21" FD Trinitron monitor. Probably little difference between the two, except the IBM has a DVI as well as HD15 interface.

Is there any image quality improvement or anything to using DVI instead of HD15? I know on an LCD monitor DVI is WAY better, but as far as I know, CRT monitors would just use the legacy analog outputs of the DVI connector anyway (correct me if I'm wrong).

I think DVI is compatible with analog signal too, so could it be that the IBM P260 is using the analog feature of the DVI?

If the P260 uses digital input from the DVI connector and you have a DVI output from your video card then I guess you can give it a try. Call up IBM to confirm though.

Bottom line, make absolutely sure the quality WILL be better if you do get the P260, returning monitors this size is a pain in the butt.
