Hello all,

Thank you for your time, I have a small problem;

I have a ASUS P4P800S-SE board, 1 gig Kingston mem, and an AOC 19" DVI TFT.

Now, I used to work with an ATI 9600XT... worked fine. Until I connected my DVI cable. The monitor did show a screen, but after a while it stopped responding... going blank, shifting, getting back online or dropping out at all. Very curious.
I updated it all... all of it I updated, BIOS, DRIVERS, ... all the latest.

Nothing worked.

So I tested it onto an ASUS p5p800, with a Nvidea 4000MX. No sync at all, nothing, nada. Black screen...
so I tested it onto an ASUS p4p800, with an ATI 9600SE. Worked like a trian. Perfect smooth DVI, no gaps, nothing. Crystal clear.

So I bought a Nividia 6800GT 265mb, put it into the first board (p4p800sse), worked fine on DSUB but the MOMENT I attached the DVI (yes, after install latest drivers, reboot bla bla bla)... none happend... all the way booting to windows... not a single pixel...

WTF? The monitor seems to work just fine... why won't my machine, even at the BIOS screen, put the sjitty DVI online...??? I was told that it could be a rare problem with the DVI and Intel chipset used in combo with the TFT...

I am lost, anyone here has had any such experiance... any advise appreciated. Another board from the same class could be an option but im SO NOT going to reinstall my Windows 2000...

Yeah, but that would not explain why it does work on another PC with almost the same configuration... but I guess anyhting could be tried...

I even tried the BIOS settings like PostS1/S3 and Plug and Play OS stuff... chipset settings...

Seems that the monitor really works fine on the same cable, tested it again. leaves me with the machine setup only... hardware related... chipset?
