Does a dual port video card with one dvi port and one analog ports provide the same resolution from both ports. It seems to me that on my AGP mohterborad i can NOT run two monitors in dual view off of a similar dual port video card. with one dvi and one analog port. Yet I have another video card whereboth ports are analog ports that will allow me to use dual view.

But the big question to me, is are the resoulutions the same from the cheaper pci express cards that have one DVI port and one Analog?

confused.

There's a difference between resolution and image quality. As far as i know you can run the same resolutions using DVI or VGA, however for LCD screens you get a much improved image if you use the DVI (although to be fair it does depend on the monitor).

I have been using dual displays for years, using my AGP card and now my 7800GT, it's not the AGP interface, it's the card in question that's messing you about.

thanks bob. i have sevenLCD dell 1905 FP 19 inchers. i was running three on a socket A agp machine and since dec 28 i have been trying to collect compatible motherborads, ram and video cards. It has been a nightmare with DOA motherboards and AMD chip +3700 939 with a bad memory controller.

My P4C800 delluxe has the other four and are current running all RGB analog off of a PCI dual port card and a AGP dual port. All at 1024x1280 resolution. rotated 90 degrees. Quality of my financial charts on either the P4 or the socket A are not bad but video seems to get blanks during the refresh, extra lines that dont belong anywhere. The socket A machine got to the point that i can not run three monitors Rotated 90 degrees. Or for that matter run three monitors. I have quite a colleciton of all AGP dual port and single port AGP and PCI cards. Looking forward to the death by natural causes for both machines. I am streathing the point on replacement for the Socket A. It still works just want do the job i need.

Seems better to upgrade to a 939 chip and new boards. Tried the XFX 6600 but didnot like the fan so i returned that one and oreder the xfx 6600 GT. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like next week

So thanks again, I have been debating with myself about the ASUS and MSI motherboards with the nvida 6150 and the DVI plus a analog outputs. ASUS A8n-vm csm and the MSI K8NGM2-FID. So I think, hope that I am correct that i should spend a little more money and go with motherboards with TWO pci expresss slots and two like video cards if I expect to get the same video quality with my monitors.

I am so disgusted with the Asus a8n-vn csm that, when it comes back from ASUS repair that I will give it to my cousin.
