Ok, so I took the plunge and picked up the KDS 19' RAD-9 at Sams Club for $900. I am happy but not elated with the quality of the video, little jaggy for me. I have a Visiontek (I think) GF3 Ti200...no DVI out...
I will be needing a VIVO card and am wondering if I should go after a newer GF$ ti4400 with the DVI. Will the DVI make a difference over the analog???????
Cheers

I don't know the native resolution of your new panel, but if it's "jaggies" that are bothering you I doubt that using DVI will make any difference.

On my Viewsonic VP230mb 23.1" LCD, I played around with DVI or HD-15 connectors. And the DVI is a noticably better, text especially looks more crisp, colors look a bit more accurate.

If your running XP goto ...Display Properties -> Appearance -> Effects -> Switch on ClearType, it helps clearing up text on LCD's.

Wow...that 'clear type' thing worked pretty good. Almost too good. I might have to see if I can get used to it.
The jaggies are the issue more than anything. I played JKII to see how it looks (already finished the game on a CRT) and am not overly impressed. Was playable, but one could almost get motion sickness playing it.
I know the refresh rate of the LCD is part of it (30ms I think on the KDS), but I was also wondering how much the DVI would help it. I guess not much from the comments.
Now I am in a quandry to go with a smaller, less expensive Samsung 17" as it appears to have a faster refresh rate. But man, this 19" sure is nice!
Native resolution of thi panel is 1280X1084 at 75mhz...32bit

I have a pair of 20" lcd and it does 1600x1200 with analog only, dvi max at 1280x1024.. I tried both and they looked the same to me.. I also have a pair of the samsung 191ts and they look almost the same in both dvi and analog..

My wife is running a Viewsonic 151B. She was using a PNY Geforce 2 MX-200 with a DVI connection. She tried a Gainward Geforce Pro 450 with the analog hook up and it was actually clearer and sharper. Both Geforces were modded with the low pass filter capacitor thingy. After doing some research I found that the DVI specifications for these Geforce2 cards weren't very impressive to begin with. Maybe a different video card with much better DVI specs might show an increase in 2D quality. At any rate here current results are still good, very sharp 2D text.
