DVI versus VGA to LCD

How many of you see any improvement connecting a LCD monitor using DVI over VGA?
My Dell 1901FP looks really great compared to my old Sony 18" tube and I'm wondering if spending $$ for a DVI card will make a noticeable improvement
Thanks.

I got Nec 1760NX and the difference from VGA to DVI is stunning, I've noticed a good difference on other display's too,

I see a big difference, especially in text which is super sharp and clear with DVI.

I mean, seriously. With an LCD, a digital connection shows each pixel in exactly the correct color. Why would you want to scale/convert an analog signal (VGA)? That's a digital->analog->digital conversion!

Less interference, no need for size / border / resolution adjustments, longer cables, etc...

Also...
Gotta LOVE M.A.M.E.!

My monitor only has a VGA input, but it has a masked off slot that says DVI-D. What's the chances that internally, everything DVI-D would need is there and that I could map the pins to make my own DVI-D input interface? :)

Some high-end CRT's DO have digital DVI connections.

Yes, but do they use the digital signal? Remember, DVI-I connectors supply both digital and analog signals.

A high-end Sony CRT with DVI would certainly use digital input for the reasons stated above.

Since CRT technology is analog by it's very nature, I doubt they'ld be using true digital input.

Some speakers can use digital inputs because they have digital decoders built into them (Z680, Cambridge Desktop Theater...). The DVI connector on my Ti4200 looks like the 4th connector on that page. Does anyone actually have one of the analog/digital connectors?
