DVI to VGA Question

I have a 8800GS with 2 DVI outs on it. I am wanting to hook up my HDTV to the videocard in order to play streaming movies and such. I know my Samsung DLP HDTV has a VGA connector and I do not believe it has a DVI. How can I pull this off?
 
Don't.
Go DVI-HDMI instead.
Otherwise, your video card (8800GS) should have came with 2 DVI-D to D-SUB converters then you just have to buy the d-sub cable.
 
Well, he may have issue going DVI-HDMI if his TV requires a HDCP connection. I am not sure all 8800GS cards were HDCP compliant. If he runs into that issue, then VGA would be the choice to use. But you are correct, stay digital if you can, it is two less conversions that have to occur. I mean, the video card has to convert the digital output stream into the analog RGB spectrum, a converter takes the pin outs from the DVI-I and grabs the RGB output pins and re-maps them to the VGA standard pin-outs, and then the TV would take that analog connect and re-convert it back to digital, to then run the display.... It is a lot of pointless conversions.
 
A true 1080i is 1920x1080 interlaced. However, not all use that for the input and some use 1920x540 (since only 540 of the vertical lines are sent). Others don't use 1920 either, but less.
