DVI to VGA Limitations - HP LP2475w

Im considering the HP LP2475w full gamut H-IPS LCD monitor. It does not have the standard VGA D sub, but comes with a DVI to VGA connector cable.

If one attempts to use VGA in this manner (ie, with the converter cable), would there be expected limits to power management control of the monitor such as "turn off monitor after 30 minutes" (OS power management option) or monitor going into standby as well as automatic resumption when the OS (assume XP) is shut down & restarted, respectively?

Any other issues one might expect with such a lash up?

Thanks in advance
