DVI to VGA adapter missing pins

Just finished building my new system and i want to hook it up to my soon-to-be-replaced dual 19" CRT's. I only got one DVI to VGA adapter with my video card (8800GT). The one that came with the card has some pins missing. My old ones that i was using has all pins in place.

Can i use the old adapters even though they have more pins than the new one? I don't care about screwing up my monitor but i very much care about the card.

The VGA signal uses very very few pins on the DVI connector. Your new adapter is just being cost effective.

yeah the analog part is only really like the 4-5 pins on the part that looks like a cross.
