Okay,
Most TV's do not accept RGB. If it supports three separate video input cables, it usually called COMPONENT video, and labled Y, Cr, Cb (or Y Pr Pb). Component uses a color difference system. One channel is the brightness (luminance). One channel is luminance minus red. One channel is luminance minus green. Okay, it actually isn't that SIMPLE, but the idea is that if you know the total brightness of a pixel, and know what part of that comes from red, and what part comes from green, you can figure out what part is blue.
Mircea: Composite video means luminance and chrominance are muxed on a single channel.
Anyways, no more digressing, do a Google search of "DVI to component" and the first result takes you to some store that sells a $30 DVI->Component adaptor for ATI Radeons. So apparently they do exist.
