DVI To HDMI

I connected my computer to an hdtv using a dvi cable out from my video card, into a dvi to hdmi converter and into my tv. it reads it and i set it to a resolution my tv supports but the whole screen is overlayed with a red tint and i cant figure out how to fix it.

My video card is a Nvidia GeForce8800 GTS 512 and im running windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition.

my TV is a Samsung 32'' CRT flattube HDTV

Sounds to me that you are not getting good contact in your adapter. And for future reference you can buy DVI to HDMI cable and will not need any type of converter.
