For various reasons I can't use the vga out on my card to the tv anymore and was thinking of using the DVI to teh tv's hdmi instead. However I have a geforce 6800 and don't think its hdcp compliant. Does that mean I can't drive the tv with a dvi to hdmi adapter?

I personally prefer the way it looks over VGA if tweaked properly because there is no scaling done by the tv. Especially when reading text.

Well, I needed the vga for another device unfortunately. Thank you hans, that saves me a lot of headaches!

There shouldn't be scaling done by the TV using DVI/HDMI either. Unless the TV will not accept its native resolution over DVI/HDMI (entirely possible with some sets).
