DVI to HDMI audio setup

I have a 22" Samsung monitor (DVI out) which doesn't have built-in speakers, and I just bought a ps3 and I intend to use a DVI to HDMI cable to output displays from ps3 to this monitor.

The question is, where do I get sound output? 😀 I don't think there is audio output from the monitor. Any help is deeply appreciated.

The PS3 has a toslink optical output as well as the standard 2 channel analog output (L/R) via the AV connector. You can connect that to whatever audio system you might have.

Wow thanks, but if I want to use my computer 5.1 speakers, which cable should I use? I don't think it can run through optical cable.

You won't be able to get 5.1 if it doesn't have optical or digital coax in. You'll have to run the R/L audio cables to a minijack into the line in on your sound card. You'll get stereo but that's it.
