DVI to Analog VGA Monitor cable/converter

Hi,

I work from home and have a ATI9700 (non pro) video card, the analog out is going to my Dell P1110 21" CRT monitor.

My company will soon be providing me another monitor, I wanted a 21" LCD but that might be too expensive, for the cost of there usual 17LCD I can get a 21" NEC MultiSync FE2111SB for a few dollars less.

My question/problem is that the ATI9700 has a DVI output and off course the NEC needs an analog signal, has anyone used an adapter cable to connect a CRT to the DVI and does it look good?

I run my CRT at 1280 x 1024.

My goal is to run both monitors at the same time and keep Outlook and my company web email/browser open on one monitor all the time and work on the other one...I'm pretty sure I can do that with this video card....correct?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Many of the AIW cards only sport the DVI connector, so the adaptor is used extensively. Its the equal of just using the straight VGA connector from my experience.

I don't know if it matters, but I do not have an AIW, I have a regular 9700non-pro that came with my Dell, that I purchased at least a year ago with one of those super deals.

The hardware solution is the same, so running the CRT off the DVI using the adaptor should work fine.
