DVI-S-Video?

hullo folks, sadly i bought a Denon receiver just before they revamped their line a lil while ago, happily the amp is very nice, but no HDMI, component is the best.....
im wondering if anyone knows as simple path as possible to convert the DVI output from my graphics card to S-Video.......is there a one cable solution? or am i likely to need a converting box? (oh and it cant use a DVI-VGA adaptor as im already using one to my 19in CRT, apparently i cant fix two of those up to the card)

that was the one bad thing with my Dell 6800GTO, it had twin DVI and no S-Video out..doh...lol

i may upgrade to a 7800GTX at some point, but if it doesnt happen in 2 weeks it wont happen for a while, so can anyone offer any knowledge? preferably something available easily to a brit 🙂
(ie no 10-14 day wait and high delivery costs..lol)

I think anything that's going to do DVI to s-video is going to be pretty expensive.

Are you hoping to do gaming on your tv, or is this just like DVD output etc. you want to play?

If it's the latter, maybe adding a PCI videocard with s-video out would be the best option for you.

What kind of tv are you hooking up?

hmm...well i thankyou for the links, but sadly none of those offers close to what i was looking for, what i need is a literal DVI (as in graphics card output) to S-Video adaptor...

from what im guessing, the best i can get is a DVI to Component, sadly my Denon amp only does upconversion, not downconversion......

oh well, guess i'll have to wait till i either get a graphics card with a S-Video output, or a front screen projector as that will take a direct DVI sginal...lol

cheers anyhow for the advice given folks 🙂
