DVI question

Sorry in advance if this question is stupid but I'm upgrading my PC and likely buying a GeForce 8800 card.

Will these cards work with my old analog 21" Sony G500 monitor? My monitor was pre-DVI and has only RGB and VGA connectors.

Thanks.

The cards DVI connector contains both analog and digital pins. An adaptor to connect to your analog monitor should be included.

Actually one more follow up.

Would I be able to plug the adapter into my existing VGA cable and plug that into the card or do I need to buy a DVI cable and attach the adapter to that?

Thanks again.

Your cable is fine, the adaptor connects to the card's DVI port and your cable connects to the adaptor. You'll need just a little more space behind the PC, but the adaptor is compact.

It'll work just fine

I always keep an old 15" CRT for troubleshooting around and I've connected it to my DVI-I output via adapter without hitch.
