Hey, I just got a new 20" WS monitor and have a question. This is the first monitor I have tried to use DVI with and noticed a weird problem.
On my previous monitor now I was running analog at 1024x768 - 32bit color
I run a Sapphire Radeon 9250 card
Chipset Manufacturer: ATI
Core clock: 240MHz
D-SUB: 1
DirectX: DirectX 8
DVI: 1
Memory Clock: 400MHz
Memory Interface: 64-bit
Memory: 128Mb, DDR
OpenGL: OpenGL 1.3
PixelPipelines: 4
Please don?t laugh at my wimpy card, I play no games, so it is used for word processing, web surfing and DVD viewing only, and, it was cheap.
On this new monitor I tried running 32-bit color at 1680x1050 over DVI and the video lags. When I scroll down a browser window it jumps rather than scrolling smoothly and DVD video is jerky.
I?ve ran this same card in Analog mode for quite a while with no issues and over analog on the new monitor it looks fine also.
Question I have is, should I expect this? Does it really take that much horsepower at these higher resolutions for 2D and DVD playback?
Also, almost forgot I am running the newest drivers.
