DVI Port on my 9800 pro only works if I use a DVI-VGA adapter and a VGA cable

so ya, as the title says... my dvi port works when I put a converter on the dvi port and use a vga cable, but when i connect dvi to dvi (lcd or projector) it doesn't work.. has anyone had this problem before? any suggestions? thanks.

its possible the digital portion of the port may be dead while analog works. hopefully not the case

ya it didnt make any sense to me either..... bah, maybe will have to get a new video card or something.
