DVI or VGA?

Would I see any different between the two of them??

There are two models I'm particularly interested in getting which are:

Samsung 931B and the 913N

The 931B has DVI/VGA whereas the 913N is only a VGA. Would I see any difference??? I currently own a 171v from Samsung.

Please advice accordingly.

I can see a difference between the two. With my 2025wm, the colors are much brighter and cleaner than if I were to use a VGA cable (the monitor has both). It is not a HUGE difference to me, but DVI is definately better.

going by the specs, dvi should be a cleaner picture because the connection is digital to digital, no conversion necessary. vga is an analog signal, thus the digital signal being given by the pc (a computer is a digital piece of hardware) needs to be converted to an analog signal. In the process a small amount of image quality is lost. This is negligable to some and a big deal to others. A dvi monitor would be best, and usually costs the same or less. Hope this helped.😀

On my Samsung 730B, the difference between VGA and DVI is HUGE. I'm not exaggerating. Even someone who doesn't normally notice these things can tell right away that so many colors are lost on VGA for me, especially near the white end of the spectrum.

Basically, always get an LCD monitor with a DVI input. There's no reason not to.

The difference I noticed, in coverting from vga to dvi, from analogue to digital, is in load time; the web pages seemingly snap in, where-as before, there was a noticeable delay (given there's no need to convert the signal from digital to analogue).

Definitely get the digital display with the DVI input; you won't regret it.

DAmn I stopped by Best Buy today and saw this Samsung 931BF 19" but the thing that amazed me the most was the listed contrast ratio os 2000:1 ( I was wooowww ) and then saw the response time of 2ms I was totally amazed. Thanks lord the 930B was right below the 931BF and they had a screensaver going on so I compared both and they were very comparably, however the 931BF was a little sharper and more defined pictures to some degree, for the most part the 930B was brighter and the 930BF had better picture quality.

Anyways, I was so perplexed for the 2000:1 contrast ratio so right after I got home I visited samsung website and they have this monitor listed with 700:1 contrast ratio typical and 2000:1 dynamic contrast)

What is the difference????????

Anybody in here have the 931BF? is it good for games, watching DVD movies and pictures?

Thanks for the input.
