i am currently using my onboard nforce2 video (i'm not a gamer) on a 15" analog nec lcd.

however i just bought a 17.4" dvi/analog planar lcd. now my motherboard does not have dvi output. does anyone here think its worth it to get a dvi card for the new lcd? i'd probably end up getting a fx5200 or something really cheap.

I would get the dvi output video card it does make a differance, but please don't buy a fx5200, get a ti4200 or a radeon 9200 64 meg or 128 meg for under $100.00 fx5200 is like buying a mx geforce model very slow!

The image quality will be better then your onboard nforce video,I would go with a top quality brand like Leadtek,Gainward etc if you do go with a FX5200, since you`re no gamer then no point really spending anymore.

DVI normally gives an improvement ,however it really depends on the monitor/video card combo used and last your eyes.
