DVI neccessary for LCD?

I've heard that for LCD monitors, getting a video card with DVI is much preferable. Do all LCDs support DVI, or only certain kinds? All the ones I've considered say "Analog Video Signal: RGB" or something to that nature in the technical stats, does that defeat the purpose of getting a video card that supports DVI?

Hey Paradox - go do a search in the general forum about LCDs and DVIs.

Only some LCDs support DVI - generally the more expensive ones.
Go for an LCD that has DVI if you can afford it. If you can't, there are some good LCD's that still look good w/o DVI - the Radius Rad 5, others but I forget.

Ummm, kind of. There are only a couple of video cards with DVI - ATI All-in-wonder, I think some GF2's, GF3, maybe others. I've heard that the GF2's DVI support isn't that great. So you can decide on AIW or the GF3.

For instance, if you buy a GF3 only because for the DVI, it's a waste of money. If you played games, a GF3 would have been a good choice.
