DVI-I to DVI-D

I just got my DVI cable. Boy was I excited. Till I realized that I got the wrong one. I ended up getting a DVI-I to DVI-I cable and I cant connect it to my DVI-D monitor connection. I am too lazy to wait 2 weeks for newegg to exchange a $5 product. Could I simply remove the extra pins manually?

Sure, that will work. Get a pair of pliers and rip them out no big deal.
