DVI-I/DVI-D

I'm a little confused about the 2 DVI types. I think I got it figured out but I'm not sure.

A DVI-I video card can accept DVI-I/DVI-D and can accept D-Sub15 with a convertor.
A DVI-D video card can accept DVI-D and DVI-I with a convertor.

Is this correct? If not, correct me please!

TIA

DVI-I carries both DVI-D and analogue VGA signals. To get VGA out of it you need a DVI-I to VGA converter.

DVI-D only has... well... DVI-D. I suppose you would be able to use a DVI-I cable, but I haven't checked. Of course, you wouldn't get any analogue VGA out of it though.
