DVI-I Connections

My LCD has a DVI-D input on it, is there a way to make a DVI-I pin compatible? I've been looking for a converter without much success. Or does someone know of a GeForce 4 4600 with a DVI-D connecter?

I think you must be confused... I think all "digital" inputs on a monitor are DVI-D.... it is the card that has the DVI-I which supports both analog + digital...

MY Planar monitor has boht a 15pin + DVI-D on it.... the card with a DVI-I could be made to work with either port, just by using different cables.

Unless I'm confused :)

I'm not sure either. Checking my Dell LCD docs it says "Your graphics card must use a DVI-D connection..." I've checked quite a few graphic card manufacturers and a majority of them are DVI-I but Hercules made their line of GeForce cards with DVI-D connections. Checking a few online cable stores show that there are separate DVI-I cables and DVI-D cables, according to their explaination DVI-I standard is a subset of DVI-D standard. Confused? I am, I just want to find a new GeForce4 with a DVI-D. Maybe you're right though, maybe a DVI-I would work but it wouldn't be as clear or I couldn't use a high resolution? I'm not sure about the compatibility.

TechMasterChen - nothing is lost by the card having DVD-I, it just supports BOTH - that doesn't mean it has lower bandwidth or anything.

There is "single" and "dual" DVI, and that DOES impact bandwidth... but I understand 1600x1200 works with single.
