DVI>HDMI connection to Toshiba LCD..."no video signal"

I'm getting really frustrated here.

I've updated to the latest catalyst drivers. When I connect the LCD (Toshiba 42HL167) to the computer via my DVI>HDMI cable, Windows detects it. The Catalyst Control Center finds it too, even its max resolution:

However there is no video output to the LCD. I just don't know what else to do. The ANT, Component, and VGA inputs work just fine and this is a brand new LCD, so I HIGHLY doubt that it's an issue with all of my HDMI ports just not working. And I've tried 2 separate DVI>HDMI cables with the same results.

The ONLY resolution that gets a video signal thus far is 800x480. This is a 1080p LCD! What is the deal here?

I have that exact video card, and just connected it to my Sharp 32" LCD (1366x768). Using Catalyst drivers about a year old got me close to the native resolution (1360x768), but I found that when I switched the TV to a different input, it would lose the PC signal. I'd have to restart to get it back.

A bit of research yesterday shows that ATI video cards, when they sense no connection on the DVI port, shut it down. Some video cards, such as Matrox, don't do this. The solution for me was to install the Omega drivers for my video card. That seemed to keep the signal alive. I also set a keyboard shortcut to turn the monitor on/off.

Oddly, the Omega drivers don't have an option for 1366x768, even though they said they did in the changelog. I set the resolution to 1280x768, and enable a setting to not scale the picture. So far my video connection isn't lost, and while it's not the full resolution, there are black bars on the sides so the actual image isn't stretched.

Try those drivers and see if it works for you!
