DVI-D Single Link vs. Dual Link Cables

I have a dual monitor setup - a Dell 2005 FPW and Dell 1901 FP running on a Nvidia Quadro FX 1100 video card. I am getting ready to mount my monitors on a dual arm so I need some more cable. I can get a deal on some 10 ft. DVI-D dual link monitor cables - I understand that they cross compatible with DVI-D single link equipment and will work fine.

Can anyone confirm this and/or shed some light on this matter?

THANKS!

Dual-link cables have pins and wires for something the graphics card doesn't offer and the display doesn't expect. Just a bunch of unused copper inside the cable - so yes, that'll work.
