DVI card Quality?

What video card will provide me with the best visual 2-D and 3-D quality on an LCD monitor through a DVI connection? I'm looking to run either 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 depending on how much cash I have for the LCD 🙂

from my experience, stay away from ati. their latest drivers introduce obvious and distracting video artifacts. at least with my aiw radeon.
i have a visiontek gf2 ultra that is a bit dated but works great. perhaps the pny gf3 ti200? it's pretty cheap at newegg.
good luck

The Leadtek GF3 is excellent (I'm running 1600x1200x32 on DVI on a Dell 2000fp). I hear that the all-on-chip DVI on the ATI 8500 is not as good in terms of quality, and beyond that, people have been having problems. Not everyone who has one has run into problems, but there's been quite a few... so it's luck of the draw.

so then here is a question could it be the monitior itself that is the problem working with some monitiors? while other monitiors that same video card works well ? i am wanting to buy a LCD Monitior but want to make sure the one i get will work right

So Geforce3's actually have better 2D quality than ati and matrox when hooked up through DVI? I was thinking of a matrox for superlative 2D quality, but if I can get just the same with Nvidia, I'll go that way instead. Anyone know? I need to buy the card tomorrow, so I'd appreciate any opinions. Thanks 🙂

The PNY (MSI) TI200's w/ DVI have really nice 2D quality. In addition, they can be found for under 175.00 🙂

The monitor itself is not the problem. Even switched to other DVI LCD's, they exhibited the problem.
