DVI and VGA is like night and day

Nocturnal

Lifer
I'm currently running a 1901FP on a Vertigo PNY Geforce FX 5200 Ultra card with dual ports DVI and VGA. DVI is beautiful. Now I understand why it's so beautiful.

PICS!

I don't know about you, but I care barely tell the difference between DVI and VGA on my 1800FP.

Why don't you explain to us what this night and day is ? Give some examples ?

I don't see much of a difference, honestly. Only because the resolution is like 1920x1280....

Congratulations on your new monitor Nocturnal.

I can - the display was just TOO blurry with VGA - and I have the same monitor! :Q

I have a Radeon 8500 also without truetype turned on.

I have cleartype on and it like it better.
You should have it enabled on laptops and lcd's. It makes a world of difference with text.

I believe its under effects on the display properties page. Check one of the buttons there and you'll find it. Sorry if I can't be more clear; I myself don't have XP or a flat panel, but my bro does.

Duh - I know that, but the 1800FP 😛 After reading all of the negative reviews of text quality in the hot deals threads when I bought the 1800FP, I and almost every person who participated in the 500+ posts threads came to the unanimous decision that screen text looked MUCh better with cleartype turned off. It just looks look blurry on this LCD (although it looks gorgeous on most others).

wtf? I just turned it on, my fonts looked like crap.
Maybe because I have 110% dpi setting on also

<- inspirion 8500, 1920x1280

Ordered my 1800fp yesterday for $387

fuzzy math

$529-10%-$35-20%

Dell was having their 10% off software and peripheals, then I had a once use only $35 coupon for anything over $450, then I used my 20% off sp coupon I had in my email box.

Gotta love those stackable coupons.

what resolution do u use on a 17" lcd?

when i turn on the "typeclear", seems like "anti alias. but only work great on 1280x1024.

when i use it on a 1280x960, text seems more blurry
