My sister just got a DVD player and because her TV has no RCA jacks she had to plug it into her vcr in order to get it to work. The DVD player itself seems to work just fine but for some reason whenever you try and watch a movie it fades in an out. It gets darker and brighter throughout the entire movie. Does anyone know of a way that this can be fixed? Is it just the copy protection built into the DVD that is screwing up the picture like that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Macrovision is screwing with the automatic gain control on your VCR.

Solution: Buy an RF modulator.

That would work as well, but RF modulators are a lot cheaper than new TV's.

Hmmm, that's what I figured. Next time I go out I'll have to pick up an RF modulator. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Thanks Viper GTS

Yeah her TV isn't the latest and greatest, but I think we'll be sticking with an RF Modulator for now. :)

Well if Mr. Valenti wants a piece of me then by all means, bring it on. All my sister wants to do is watch dvds and if she has to go around the movie studios precious copy protection then so be it. However, I'm sure if he offered to buy her a new tv with A/V jacks she wouldn't complain. ;)
