DVDRW Problem: "E:/ is not accessible. Incorrect Function".

I've got the LG GSA-4082B 8X4X12 DVD+-R/RW/RAM 24X16X32 CDRW. It was installed correctly, and functioned 100% for a couple of weeks. I have not made any significant additional hardware or software installations in the last few days (a couple USB devices, nothing else really).

Beginning last night, though, I've got a problem.

When put a blank disc (DVD or CD) into the drive, and try to access it, I get an error that reads: "E:/ is not accessible. Incorrect Function".

This is when attempting to access it via simply double-clicking the drive (rather than using third-party software). When I try to burn from some other program (Alcohol 120% etc.) I simply get an error saying that burning has failed.

In Windows, it still does seem to know (on some level) that there is a blank disc in the tray. It says either "CD-R" or "DVD-R" (on the icon) depending on what type of disc I use. But, it cannot access the disc.

The disc does still read audio and data information, and I can listen to music or copy stuff from discs. But, it cannot read blanks properly.

What are my options? What can/should I do?

Thanks,

Dave

OK. I just did a firmware update... I was pretty out of date. I just updated to the recently released firmware for the drive.

But I still have the problem... no change at all.

Any ideas?
