my NEC 1300A OEM dvd rw is messing up. It will play normal CDs and DVDs fine, but when i put blank media into it, under mycomputer it changed to be a CD DRIVE from a DVD-r. No burning software like nero or anything can detect a blank cd, and thusly i cannot burn. I flashed it with the most recent drivers and i have no idea what else to do, please help!
 
Had a similar problem after installing my pioneer 108. Did you install ASPI drivers for xp 2k? I also disabled imapi service and everything worked for me.
