i got a little problem here that i'm kinda loosing sleep over
sometimes it seems as if my system cant detect/load drivers for my sound card, fortissimo 2
it would either detect new hardware or not detect at all
they way i know this is at the win2k load screen, the one with the blue bar, if my speakers sorta 'pop' then i know its loaded. if not then it doesnt detect the card or it does the new hardware detected looking for drivers
herc doesnt have any new drivers on their site, i'm using the ones that came with a cd. i changed the slot the card was in and still does the same thing
heres the pci config:
slot 1: nothing
slot 2: hollywood+ decoder
slot 3: nothing
slot 4: fortissimo 2
slot 5: intel nic
i have all my drivers for everything installed as well as service packs
btw, this only happens after a cold boot (i.e. if my comp is off for a long time, and turn it on, it happens. but after i reboot it detects it okay most of the time)

iwill dvd266-R
512mb pc2400 corsair
2x 40gig hd ibm 60gxp
fortissimo 2
intel pro 10/100 nic
voodoo5 5500 agp
hollywood+
acpi installed
tried to enable plug and play os in the bios but that didnt solve it
and i just changed the resource setting config to see if that worked, wont know till i get off work tonight and see if it detects off the cold boot

just happened to me again
just booted up, no detect
rebooted, then i get sound
what the frack??!!
no conflicts in device manager, dont think its an irq issue since i have acpi managing them, only thing diff in device manager is when it detects the fortissimo as new hardware
