Most current DVD burners will burn either + or -R media. It really doesn't matter which media you use. Some people say that -r media works better with older players but I really don't have a problem with by DVD player and -R media (and mine is an OLD one).
I prefer - over +. Can't tell you why, I find it just works better with all the stuff in my house (like my xbox). It's really not hard to burn a DVD. Just put a blank disc in the drive and use Nero Express and just follow the steps (for burning data dvd).
Now if you want to burn/copy a movie (which I hope you own

) it's a little more complicated than that. Most movie dvds that you get off the shelf are dual layer discs, meaning that they can hold 8.5gb of data. The dvd that your going to be burning it too can only hold 4.7, now do you see the delima? Your going to have to compress that DVD down to size. I use DVDXCopy but I doubt that you can still find that anywere. There is also a free program called dvd shrink. It takes a little longer to compress, but hey, it's free. It's also a tad more complicated to use but I think you could figure it out.
You can also search the forums using that invisible search button in between the profile and search buttons in the top right. I'm sure it's been asked before, you just have to look. Also search google and remember that google is your friend.
