DVD wont stop spinning

I installed a x-fi sound card yesterday and now when theres a dvd in my dvd burner it wont stop spinning even when its not in use. Any ideas?
 
I had this problem once when I drank too much vodka....the room just kept spinning.

I'm assuming you're in Windows. My best advice is to pop open your case and unplug the mean old DVD drive. Boot into windows safe mode and remove all of your DVD drivers. Shut down and boot up normally, check one more time in Device Manager to make sure the DVD is gone...then shutdown and hook it up again.

If there's an IRQ or memory conflict somewhere between the two, it makes them do screwy things or not function at all.
