DVD with POWERDVD hisses on my sbLive??

I tried using spdif option on the player and when I checked the configuration, it said that the Spdif is not used. Is there anyway to force it? I've just got my Toshiba 12X. I tried playign with Spdif and there was no sound. And when I switched back to the wave out option, it hisses. Is it me or is there anything wrong?
 
What kind of speakers do you have? If you don't have an external AC3 decoder, you can't use spdif out. If you have 4.1 speakers, select 4-speaker mode, which Dolby digital emulation.

As for the hissing, I don't really know. Have you tried other DVD's, because some seem to hiss more then others.

Someone on this board noted that if you muted CD Audio in Sound properties (That little sound icon thing in your start bar) the hissing goes away. It worked for me. Odd..

I'm using Acs45.2 and thanx for answering that. It hisses alot under PowerDVD, is there any other software I can use to play? I've mute all the sound in the sound properties.
