DVD + Win XP Pro

I've tried several different programs now and every one I use in XP every few seconds it lags and makes a high pitch sound. I've run all windows XP updates, updated my video and sound card drivers. I have a Pioneer 6x SCSI DVD. Any have any ideas?

Please, anyone have ideas? I'm going to have to reload 98 if I can't get this fixed

You try the dvd pack for winmediaplayer? You can find it at xp-erience.org. This enables dvd playback in wm8....

My dvd playback works fine...I have a Toshiba tho...

Yay, I got it working. It was my sound card, removed it and it plays great. Now I just need a new sound card....
