dvd video playback has brightness problems

I have a geForce4 Ti4200 and am using the composite output to a TV. I play a DVD with winDVD and the brightness goes up and down thruought the whole movie. This happens on most all my DVD's. I have changed dvd drives and same issue. i have used different software and same issue. anyone else have this problem?
 
your tv happen to have a built-in vcr or are you running it thru a vcr first? thats macrovision copy protection at work
